TAP) - Tunisia observes the Global Handwashing Day which corresponds to October 15 of each year and the 8th National Handwashing Day under the sign «Our Future is at Hand – Let's Move Forward Together,» said a statement of the Ministry of Health released Tuesday.

The Ministry of Health calls on this occasion the Regional Directors of Health to take a series of measures including the call of public and private institutions to promote the necessary equipment and verify their compliance to ensure proper handwashing. An approach that helps limit the spread of several diseases including coronavirus, said the same source.

The supervisory authority also calls to entrench the culture of handwashing among citizens by organising awareness sessions in the community and increasing control at the level of establishments open to the public including the application of health protocol according to agreed standards.
